Powder flask

During the 2005 season a concretion was recovered (inv. no. 1305) which radiography revealed to contain a small, wooden, bi-conconcave powder flask, also a somewhat crushed 'apostle' and three fragments of pottery. The flask was used to contain fine-grained priming powder for the flash pan (see Powder flasks).
